*I'm reposting this entry because I am getting really tired of posting comments on people's work regarding my guidelines. Please note that you have one chance to change your guidelines before your deviation is reported - I'm not trying to be mean but it is still my art, and you need to go by my guidelines to use it.*

This has happened enough times that I feel the need to change one of my guidelines. If you've used my stock in the past and haven't recieved a comment from me regarding the credit in your artist's notes, disregard this. If you're new to using my stock, PLEASE pay attention to this.

:bulletblue:Any usage of my stock must be credited to this account, Pink-Stock, in your Artist's Comments.:bulletblue:

This is a guideline found in most stock artists' rules, and I find that the actual credit is relaxed - the artist using the stock is basically free to credit someone however they wish. This is totally cool and I really appreciate having credit, but my guidelines state that my account must be credited in the artist's comments. What this means is that there should be a link to this account or my avatar must be there, like this:

If you don't know how to do this, go here: FAQ #81: How can I create links to other deviants, deviations, or websites?

Also take note of this: FAQ #217: What are "Stock and Resources" and can I use them in my submissions? I realise that it says linking back to the image is important, but I'm not a huge enforcer of that. I'd MUCH rather have my account name than a link - both are great, but I'd rather have my name out there. Also take note of the fact that the FAQ says "Please remember to follow all terms and conditions which might be attached to the stock by the provider. Some of the more common terms are non-commercial use only and a requirement to link back to the stock provider but terms can vary greatly so be certain to check." It also states that not following the artist's guidelines can result in the removal of your submission.

Maybe I'm being picky. I'm a stock provider, but I also use stock, and crediting the artist is a hugely important thing to me. You're using that person's art, is adding a link to your artist's comments so that they get a little exposure too much to ask? Stock artists often fav and sometimes feature your art in their journals. You're not only using their stock, you're getting favs and features! Even before I started providing stock, I thought it was important to credit the artist in a way that would give them exposure, and the easiest way to do this is to have their name or avatar somewhere in your artist's comments. Maybe it sounds greedy or something, but I'm providing these pictures free of charge. In lieu of paying me, like you have to on professional stock sites, you can put my account up. I don't have any exclusive stock - everything I do is available to everyone. I honestly don't think it's too much to ask.

Even if it is, it's one of my guidelines, and always has been. Another one of my guidelines is this:

:bulletblue:Any violation of my guidelines can and most likely will result in you being reported. Being reported for violating my guidelines can result in a ban or suspension. Please don't force me to do this - I don't want to be the cause of anyone's ban or suspension, but I will if I have to.:bulletblue:

I've reported people's deviations before for breaking my guidelines. Never for not crediting my account - I just ask the artist and it's never been a problem. But I'm tired of having to ask two out of every five artists who use my stock to credit me appropriately. If it's really too much to ask, someone tell me. But I am firmly of the opinion that any stock you've used deserves to be credited to the original artist. Not just mine - any, though guidelines vary and some artists are more lenient than others. I'm not. I want the credit. If you don't want to credit me, find someone else's stock to use - I don't mean to sound rude, but they ARE my pictures.

So, to eliminate any confusion and to make it clear what I'm asking, the guideline regarding crediting me will be changed to read:

:bulletblue:Any usage of my stock must be credited to this account, Pink-Stock, in your Artist's Comments, by way of linking to my account or putting my avatar up. The words "Pink-Stock" MUST appear somewhere in your Artist's Comments, whether it's like this pink-stock or like this :iconpink-stock:. Please see the following if you don't know how to do this: FAQ #81: How can I create links to other deviants, deviations, or websites? :bulletblue:

I'm also probably going to start posting all of my guidelines in the Artist's Comments of my stock. I hate having that much text under my pictures, but not enough people are clicking the link and actually reading my guidelines. I'm sorry if this causes problems for anyone, but you're using my stock for free. In return, I'd like some credit. That's all. Thank you for reading my lovely rant about this, and hopefully this will all work out =)

I'm going to leave this journal up for awhile, features will return next time.

Anyone is free to use my stock, provided they follow my guidelines.

If you would like to see my own original artwork (which may include some of the stock on this site), I can be found at :iconwhimsical-creations:. PLEASE NOTE: My original site is not a stock site. You must ask permission for those images if you would like to use them.

:bulletpurple:PinkStock Guidlines and Terms of Use:bulletpurple:</u>

Well, it's pretty much the same as most stock sites, but if you can't remember the common-sense guidlines, let me refresh them for you.

:bulletblue:Using my stock on DeviantArt is comletely acceptable. Using my stock on any other site is also completely acceptable.:bulletblue:

:bulletblue:Any usage of my stock must be credited to this account, Pink-Stock, in your Artist's Comments, by way of linking to my account or putting my avatar up. Please see the following if you don't know how to do this: FAQ #81: How can I create links to other deviants, deviations, or websites? :bulletblue:

:bulletblue:You must let me know (preferably in a note - but I won't butcher you if you leave a comment) when you use my stock. This is a very simple thing. Plus, by letting me know, you have the chance to be featured in my journal and added to my favorite list - a GOOD thing!:bulletblue:

:bulletblue:Using my stock for prints or other profitable works is allowed, but you MUST credit me and let me know! ANY violation of this will be reported.:bulletblue:

:bulletblue:Do not use my stock in inappropriate (ie. pornographic, racist, etc.) ways. Use it appropriately, or don't use it at all.:bulletblue:

:bulletblue:Any violation of my guidelines can and most likely will result in you being reported. Being reported for violating my guidelines can result in a ban or suspension. Please don't force me to do this - I don't want to be the cause of anyone's ban or suspension, but I will if I have to.:bulletblue:

:bulletblue:Requests are permitted - however I cannot promise that I will fill every request. All requests must be submitted by NOTE or EMAIL. Comments will be ignored.:bulletblue:

:bulletblue:Not a guideline, but a general note - most of these pictures have not been edited (save perhaps being cropped) at all. Brightness, contrast, saturation, etc. have not been changed. These pictures are in their absolute raw form. That being said, don't complain to me because the colours don't pop out enough. You can edit that in basic photo-editing programs.:bulletblue:

Comments and critique is encouraged! Thank you for using my stock!
